Meet the couple behind The Wild Side Bistro, Raquel and Jay. They met in 2002 while working together right here on Long Island. Together they have owned 4 restaurants before Wild Side Bistro. Passionate about food, ingredients and how the two influence Mother Earth and our health - Wild Side Bistro is the convergence of where foodie food meets holistic health.
Chef Jay has always been a foodie and wino. Having studied at Hotel School in Switzerland and living/working in 9 countries and on Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships, before moving to the US. Wild Side Bistro's menu features authentic flavors and cooking techniques from Jay's extensive travels. Born and raised in India, it is Jay's cultural roots that give Wild Side Bistro its Indian-fusion flare. Spice, as they say, is INDEED LIFE! This is very evident in the bold flavors in every dish on the menu.
Following the birth of their oldest son in 2009, Raquel earned her certification as a Holistic Health Coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. In addition to coaching clients one on one, Raquel also founded The Real Food Cleanse which is designed 'for super busy people whose lifestyles are less than perfect.' At Wild Side Bistro, Raquel and Jay demonstrate that wholesome food can still be flavorful and delicious.
"Heard about this place on "Restaurant Hunter" on Fios. They showed the "Chicken Tika Marsala Pizza". Too interesting to NOT try. WOW! It was incredible! Tasted super fresh with just enough heat to make all the flavors pop!
